Victorian and Steampunk Clothing from Scarlet Darkness

If you’re looking for a new source for your Steampunk wardrobe or Halloween costume, we have found one called Scarlet Darkness. They have a store on Amazon with lovely Steampunk and Goth clothes for men and women. (They have some children’s clothes, but they are definitely not Steampunk.) As the name implies, Scarlet Darkness has a lot of clothes that would be suitable for a vampire costume, but you don’t have to be a vampire to wear them. We did some exploring, and found several items that you could use and reuse in various costumes or for your regular wardrobe. Here are the Steampunk clothing pieces that we found. Women’s Victorian Steampunk Striped Waistcoat

This Victorian Steampunk Striped Waistcoat can be worn as a waistcoat over a blouse, but also by itself as a top. It comes in two colors which you can see when you click through to the product page, and would mix well with several of the other items on this page. One thing great about Scarlet Darkness is that they have a measurement chart on each product page to help you determine which size is the best for your body type.

Women’s Vintage Retro Waistcoat

The color shown below for the short-sleeved tailcoat is red. Wine is a more of a muted burgundy. When ordering check carefully, because not all the sizes are available in all the colors. Note that the product page says they are out of stock of the long-sleeved black jacket until after Halloween 2020, expected November 22, 2020. Steampunk Clothing for Women

While Steampunk was first used to refer to a subgenre of science fiction literary works, it has also caught on as an interesting style of fashion and jewelry. Steampunk combines elements of the past and the future, usually incorporating a historical period along with some type of steam-powered futuristic technology. Steampunk fashions for women might include corsets, skirts, boots, boleros, and shirts that have a style reminiscent of the Victorian era. Here we take a look at some of the latest in Steampunk clothing for women.

Retro Goth Brocade Steampunk Overbust Corset

This garment is a brown color and comes in sizes ranging from small to 6X large (various sizes fit from a size 2 to a size 20). The corset is steel boned, made from polyester fabric and brocade faux leather. The front of the corset has large D rings, and the matching shrug is detachable. The design on the front features decorative buckles, while the back features cord lacing. Includes belt with hip pouch. Non-faux leather parts of the garment have a beautiful floral pattern woven into the fabric. This corset/shrug combination would be great paired with a Steampunk skirt and boots.

Steampunk fashion combines elements of the Victorian era and a post-apocalyptic era, making it both retro and futuristic at the same time. While the women’s Steampunk styles often feature corsets and full skirts, then men’s Steampunk fashions are equally trendy. Here we take a look at some pieces such as coats, waistcoats, shirts, and trousers that make up the popular Steampunk fashions for men.

This great Steampunk waistcoat is black in color and available in men’s size ranging from extra small through 3XL. A tailor made option is also available. The sleeveless vest is made from jacquard fabric and features a collar that lies flat, two pockets near the chest area, and two pockets closer to the waist. Eight antique gold colored buttons (four on each side) grace the front of the garment. Back of garment has straps and a buckle to adjust fit.
